In Teresa e Alexandre Soares dos Santos Library we are dedicated to ensuring that everyone in our community has equal access to the wealth of knowledge and resources we offer. In this section, you’ll find all the essential details about accessing our physical spaces, special loan regulations, available services, and digital resources. Our goal is to make your library experience as inclusive and seamless as possible. So, let’s explore together how we can best support your learning journey.
Ground floor
The ground floor is designed to accommodate both individual and collaborative study needs, offering approximately 150 seating positions, a dedicated computer area, and a cozy relax corner for moments of respite. Three group study rooms provide space for collaborative academic endeavors, and students can also use the self-service terminals, seek assistance from the reference desk, and access part of our collection. Additionally, restroom facilities are conveniently located on this floor, along with an elevator for access to the second floor, with our team available to assist those in need of elevator access.
Second Floor
The second floor can be accessed via stairs or elevator and contains the main reading room, where most of our book collection is located with about 300 seats and five group study rooms, It also offers a balcony, where students can relax in-between their work.
Circulation Services
We provide special loan options for individuals with special needs. Users can request extended loan periods or even arrange for someone to pick up books on their behalf if they are unable to visit the library in person. To request these services, please contact us at library@novasbe.pt.
