Nova SBE Research #6 – Data Repository

In 2023, the Teresa and Alexandre Soares dos Santos Library released a series of posts intended for the scientific research community. The initial post provided general information on recent research, followed by a compilation of publications that have had a significant impact. An explanation of the information ecosystem used by the school to manage research data was provided. In addition, the open science webpage was promoted and the recommended steps for creating a Data Management Plan were outlined.

With this recapitulation, we are pleased to announce the Nova SBE Data Repository, managed by the Teresa and Alexandre Soares dos Santos Library team. The repository was created to achieve several objectives, including providing a secure space for storing research data produced within Nova SBE. It facilitates easy retrieval, access, sharing, use, and dissemination of the data. Additionally, it fulfils the requirements set by funding agencies that demand open access to democratize science and knowledge sharing while ensuring the preservation of these items.

The repository, which can be accessed through the link https://novasbe.figshare.com/, was the pioneer in Portugal to adopt Figshare. Figshare is a platform that allows researchers, institutions, and organizations to store, share, and manage research data and digital content, such as datasets, figures, posters, presentations, and other research outputs. The main purpose of this project is to enhance the visibility and accessibility of research materials, thereby making them discoverable to the global research community.

If you have research data that you would like to share, please do not hesitate to contact the Library at library@novasbe.pt for further information.
