As a library user, you can:

Yes – if you’re a Nova SBE student, you can book a room for 4 to 8 people for up to 3 hours per day.

1 – Go to the Booking System on the Library homepage
2 – Choose your time slot and room
3 – Make sure to confirm your reservation within 15 minutes of your booked time, or it might be canceled.
Yes! Just use the Booking System on the Library homepage to reserve a PC with Bloomberg access.

Loans and returns
How does borrowing work??
Yes! Just stop by the circulation desk and register as a library user. Once you’re set up, you’re good to go.
Here’s what you need to know:
– Borrowing is free
– All books must be checked out in person at the circulation desk or using the selfcheckout machine.
You can renew your books:
– At the desk
– By email
– Through the online catalog
Recommended Books for courses have special rules (look for a blue sticker on the spine)
Be sure to check due dates and renewal limits to avoid late fees.
1. Start with the Library Catalog
– Use the Discovery Service linked on our website.
– Search by title, author, or keywords.
– Note the Call Number listed in the book’s catalog entry. This is the key to locating the book.
2. Understand the Call Number
– Call numbers are alphanumeric and look something like this:
HF 5415 AC
– Here’s how to read it:
HF: Subject area (e.g., HF = Commerce)
5415: Sub-topic (e.g., Marketing)
MAC: author surname initials letters
Go to the Correct Section
3. The library is organized alphabetically by the first letters of the call number
– Find the HF section first.
– Within HF, look for 5415, then MAC
4. Use Signage and Shelf Labels
– Each shelf end has a range label showing the call numbers it contains.
– Follow the labels until you find the correct range.
5. Ask for Help if Needed
If you’re unsure or can’t find the book, just ask a librarian at the help desk—we’re always happy to assist!
Yes, there are limits depending on your user type. Check with the librarian at the circulation desk for the most up-to-date info.
Just bring it back to the circulation desk, hand it over, and wait for confirmation that it’s been returned. Alternatively, you can return it using the self-return machine.
You’ll need to pay a late fee. The amount depends on how long the book is overdue and the loan type of the books borrowed.

No. You must return the book, pay the late penalty and then borrow the book again.
Yes! Just send a renewal request to the library’s email. Make sure to include your name, student ID, and the book details.
You can place a hold online.
Once the book is returned, you’ll get an email letting you know it’s ready for pickup.
Holds are only valid for 24 hours after notification—so don’t wait too long!
You can request it through Interlibrary Loan (ILL):
– Email the library with the full details of the item
– Wait for approval from the chief librarian
If approved:
– You’ll get a digital copy by email,
or
– You can pick up the physical copy within 48 hours of notification
The following items are for in-library use only:

– Physical copies of master’s and doctoral theses
Let the library know right away. You’ll need to replace the book with the same edition. If it’s out of print, the library will suggest a similar book of equal value that you can provide instead.

You can search for Nova SBE dissertations and theses through the institutional repository – RUN. If you’re not sure where to start, ask a librarian for help.
Yes! Most digital resources are available off-campus. Just log in using your Nova SBE credentials when prompted. This gives you full access to databases, e-books, and journals from anywhere.
