World Book and Copyright Day

The 23rd April is World Book and Copyright Day

In the Teresa e Alexandre Soares dos Santos Library we are concerned with building a collection that allows our users, students, faculty and staff, to go a little beyond the “must read”.

Reading for pleasure and not for obligation is essential to improve our literacy rates and improve essential skills for our academic and professional success, such as writing, creativity and vocabulary.

On the first floor of the library you can find an informal area, totally dedicated to literature and informal reading. With a collection composed of several literary genres, such as novels, biographies, History, Politics and essays, classics and contemporary, available for local reading in a chill out zone created exactly for this purpose or for home loan to read wherever you want.

Thanks to our partnership with the Division of Archives, Libraries and Historical Heritage of Cascais Municipality, our literary offer has grown substantially, which allows us to promote a more up-to-date and appealing collection for our community.

Taking advantage of the occasion, celebrating this book day, we invite the entire SBE community to come to the library and borrow one or more of our literature books.

The wise man once said: Reading is the best medicine!
